Watch! Faf Du Plessis defies age to take an outstanding catch to dismiss Tim David

Mumbai Indians and Super Kings franchise have enjoyed a huge rivalry over the years. The two teams have both won 5 titles each in the history of Indian Premier League. The rivalry took a new turn and a new destination in the United States Of America. The league in question is the Major League Cricket which began recently. The game was played between Texas Super Kings taking on Mumbai Indians New York.

The story as it happened –

Fad Du Plessis the captain of Texas Super Kings won the toss and chose to bat first. Texas had played 2 games winning one and losing one. Mumbai too had played two games had a one win and one loss ratio. The game was played at Dallas in the Grand Prairie Stadium on late Monday night.

Tim David falls to an amazing catch by Faf Du Plessis –

Chasing 155 to win, Mumbai were pegged back at regular intervals. Tim David has been terrific form with the bat in the previous two games. The right handed batter from Australia got a slower ball from Daniel Sams his fellow Australian. Tim David mistimed shot as Texas Super Kings captain Faf Du Plessis came in and flung himself and took a diving catch to dismiss David for 24.


 


Devon Conway’s 74 leads Texas Super Kings to 154 –

Opting to bat first, Texas Super Kings saw Devon Conway top score with 74. The Kiwi international scored his runs in 55 balls with 8 fours and a six. Faf Du Plessis scored 8, while Cody Chetty scored 12 and David Miller scored 17. Mitchell Santner scored 27 off 13 balls with a four and 2 sixes. Boult and Rabada picked 2 wickets as Pollard and Rashid Khan picked a wicket each.

Mumbai Indians lose by 17 runs –

Chasing 155 to win, Monank Patel was out for a duck as fellow opener Shayan Jahangir scored 41. His knock came off 38 balls with 5 fours, Steven Taylor (15), Nicolas Pooran (19) were the other contributors with the bat as Hammad Azam and Rashid Khan scored 13 each. Daniel Sams and Mohammad Mohsin picked 2 wickets each, while Rusty Theron, Zia- Ul Haq and Dwayne Bravo picked a wicket each. Texas Super Kings won the game by 17 runs to retain their spot at the top of the table.
