In its infancy, the Legends League Cricket is hosting its 2nd season at Doha. The game on Saturday saw World Giants take on Indian Maharajas in the 2nd game at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha. Indian Maharajas had lost the first game of the tournament to Asian Lions on Friday.

Harbhajan Singh leaves Chris Gayle stunned –

The game on Saturday between Indian Maharajas and World Giants saw the Giants win the toss and decide to bat first. The incident happened in the 2nd ball of the third over, with Harbhajan Singh bowling to Chris Gayle.

Bowling over the wicket, Harbhajan bowled one down the leg side. Gayle went for a his patented sweep but was beaten by the turn. The ball came back in sharply as it hit the top of the middle stump. Both Gayle and Harbhajan were stunned at the amount of spin the ball got.


Watson and Finch score half centuries –

Post the fall of Chris Gayle, former Australian duo , Aaron Finch and Shane Watson joined forces. The pair added 88 runs for the 2nd wicket with Finch scoring 53 off 31 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Finch the World Giants captain was supported by Watson who top scored. Watson, scored 55 off 32 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes.

Harbhajan grabs 4 as India restrict World Giants to 166 –

Pravin Tambe broke the 2nd wicket stand when he had Finch caught by Uthappa. Tambe struck again when he had Watson caught by Murali Vijay to break a 34 run stand for the 3rd wicket with Jacques Kallis.

Harbhajan Singh then got into the groove when he picked the wickets of Ross Taylor, Kevin O Brien and Morne Wan Wyk to finish with 4/13 from his 2 overs. Pravin Tambe picked 2 wickets, while Irfan Pathan picked 1 as World Giants scored 166/8 from their 20 overs.

Gambhir and Uthappa give India a good start –

Former KKR openers, Robin Uthappa and India Giants captain Gautam Gambhir were in their groove. The pair added 65 for the 1st wicket in just 6.2 overs to show their vintage touch with the bat. Ricardo Powell broke the stand when he had Uthappa bowled for 29 off 21 balls with 4 fours and a six.

Indian Maharajas lose by 2 runs –

Murali Vijay scored 11 before retiring himself out due to an injury. Suresh Raina joined Gautam Gambhir as the Indian Maharajas wanted to score runs at quick pace. Powell struck again when he bowled Gambhir for 68 off 42 balls with 9 fours and a six. 

Raina with 19 and Kaif with 21* tried to win the game for the Maharajas, but some brilliant death bowling by the Giants condemned Gambhir and his men to 2 run loss which was their 2nd in two days.
