k

India A team grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat as they made it to the finals of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup. The Indian team beat Bangladesh A by 51 runs in the 2nd semi final to set up a date with Pakistan A for the big game on Sunday. The two teams fought tooth and nail as India came out on top. The entire match saw the heat in Colombo get to the two teams as there were some moments of coming together.

The story so far –

India A and Bangladesh A met each other in the 2nd Semi Finals of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup. Pakistan had beaten hosts Sri Lanka handsomely in the 1st Semi Final game to make their way to the final. Bangladesh A skipper Saif Hassan asked India to bat first after winning the toss.

Harshit Rana and Indian players have a go at Soumya Sarkar –

Soumya Sarkar who was the opening batter for senior Bangladesh team was batting on 5. The score for Bangladesh was 130/4 still needing 82 runs for a win with over 24 overs to go. That’s when Yuvrajsinh Dodiya did the trick as he had Sarkar caught by Nikin Jose for 5

Once Nikin Jose took the catch he took the ball and threw it down on the ground. The entire India A team was seen having a word with the just dismiss Soumya Sarkar. Harshit Rana was seen going towards the Bangladeshi batter and having a word before being restrained by Yash Dhull the Indian A captain till Sai Sudarshan came in to diffuse the situation.

The reason for the flash point –

The Indian team player Nikin Jose had got a lucky reprieve while he was batting. This did not go down well with the Bangladesh A players. The Saif Hassan led side were showing their emotions at all times and coming up with aggressive send offs each time an Indian wicket fell. Some of the Indian players even looked back as the Bangladeshi players were showing their emotions.

Bangladesh collapses thanks to Nishant Sindhu’s bowling –

2022 Under -19 world cup winner Nishant Sindhu was the hero as he picked 5/20 to win the game for India. At one stage, Bangladesh A were sitting pretty at 100 for 2, needing just 112 runs from 31.4 overs. Nishant Sindhu came into the attack and got top scorer Tanzid Hasan for 51. After dismissing Mahmudul Hasan Joy for 20, SIndhu ran through the lower middle order with the wickets of Akbar Ali, Mahedi Hasan and Rakibul Hasan. Manav Sutar, Abhishek Sharma and Dodiya were the other wicket takers for India.
