India, come into the series with a few new faces in their line up. Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal are likely to make their test debut during the two match test series.

The story as it happened –

The Indian team is sweating it out at Barbados as they are playing a two Intra-squad practice match. All the players who are part of the team are getting a run during the two day game. Jaydev Unadkat is one of the players who will be looked at closely as the 31 year old left arm pacer tries to get back into the test team.

Kohli falls fishing outside the off stump yet again –

Virat Kohli is one of the batters that the Indian fans will be having their eyes on closely during the test series. The former Indian captain has made a good start to 2023 with centuries in ODI and Test Cricket.

In the two day practice game which started on Wednesday, Kohli was facing Unadkat who was bowling round the wicket. Kohli, has in recent times fallen to the outside off stump tempter and it wasn’t different on Wednesday. The former Indian captain was caught in the slips as he tried to glide the ball to the 3rd man boundary.

Rohit and Jaiswal start strong –

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and young left handed batting sensation, Yashasvi Jaiswal both scored half centuries. The right and left handed duo was comfortable against their Indian teammates as they scored briskly once they got their eye in. As per reports, both the batters went past 50 before retiring.

Shubman Gill to bat at number three –

It is learnt, Shubman Gill will take over the number 3 spot from Pujara who was dropped after a disappointing WTC final. Gill who has played as an opener so far, began as a number 3 batter in the age group level. As per sources, BCCI and the team management want Gill to succeed Kohli at the number 4 spot once the former Indian captain calls it a day.
