England ended their 3 match ODI series against South Africa on Wednesday with a 59 run win. England came into the game after losing the first 2 games despite some amazing performances with the bat. This was an important series for Jos Buttler and his men with the ICC cricket world cup later this year.
England batted first and scored a mammoth 346 thanks to twin centuries by skipper Jos Buttler and David Malan. Despite all the amazing batting there was one moment in the game, that left everyone stunned with disbelief.
Moeen Ali’s Outrageous Shot Leaves Everyone Stunned –
Tabriz Shamsi was bowling to a red hot looking English batting unit. Moeen Ali had joined Buttler as the visitors were looking to push on the scoring rate. The left arm wrist spinner bowled one outside off stump. Ali went for a swipe across the off stump with a one handed effort. Ali, couldn’t connect with the ball and wicket keeper Klassen and Shamsi were left in disbelief as were the commentators.

England Rocked Early –
Lungi Ngidi was breathing fire when he reduced England to 14/3 inn the 6th over. Ngidi got the wicket of Jason Roy for 1 caught by Bavuma. It was the turn of Ben Duckett and Harry Brook who fell next. The duo fell to the combination of caught Klassen and bowled Ngidi for 0 and 6 respectively.
Malan And Buttler Leave South Africa Stunned –
David Malan was joined by skipper Jos Buttler and the pair then went about repairing the innings. Malan scored his 3rd ODI ton with 118 off 114 balls with 7 fours and 6 sixes in his knock. Buttler on the other hand scored his 11th ODI century when he fell for 131 off 127 balls with 6 fours and 7 sixes. The pair added 232 runs for the 4th wicket before Malan was caught behind off the bowling of Magala.
England Finish Strong –
Post the fall of Malan, it was Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler who added 67 runs for the 5th wicket in 6 overs. Ali scored 41 off 23 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes as he became the 4th wicket for Ngidi. It was the turn of Marco Jansen as he picked 2 wickets, first Jos Buttler for 131 and Sam Curran for 11. The assault from Malan and Buttler meant that England scored 346/7 from their 50 overs.
