Indian cricket captain, Rohit Sharma is currently enjoying a short break. The 36 year old will be focusing on the 2023 Asia Cup next which is slated to begin in a few weeks. The next few months will prove decisive for Rohit Sharma and his captaincy. 2023 Asia Cup is the first big test before the 2023 ODI World Cup to be held in India. Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli could be playing their final ODI world cup and will want to bow out on a high.
Rohit Sharma’s hilarious reply leaves his wife laughing –
Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma was recently part of an event where he was taking questions from a host of reporters. One of the questions posed to Rohit was who felt was the most difficult or challenging Pakistani bowler to face.
Rohit in his typical manner replied “all the players in the Pakistan team are good. I wont take anyone’s name. it creates a big controversy. If you name one, others don’t feel good. If you name another, the third one doesn’t feel good. They’re all good”. This answer left his wife, Ritika laughing.
Sly dig at Mohammad Amir?
The response from Rohit Sharma was perhaps guarded because of his old experiences with Mohammad Amir. During one of the earlier interaction few years ago, Rohit Sharma had named Mohammad Amir as a normal bowler.
Amir, though did not take kindly to such a comment and came up with his own retort. Amir had said "I don’t take Rohit Sharma’s statement serious. Everyone has its own opinion and it is impossible that everyone regards me as a world-class bowler. There is nothing to be felt bad about it and as a professional, we should not take such things in a negative way. You cannot be everyone’s favourite. No doubt he is a world-class batsman. I bowled well every time I have faced Rohit and he struggled while facing me, still I will call him a world-class player”
India and Pakistan set to lock horns –
The two oldest Asian rivals, India and Pakistan are set to lock horns perhaps four times in the next few months. Both the teams will play each other 2 times during the 2023 Asia Cup, perhaps a third time in the final. The big encounter is set to take place on 14th October, when the two teams play each other at the Narendra Modi Stadium at Ahmedabad.
