Watch! Sai Sudarshan continues his good run of form during TNPL 2023 season

Indian Cricketers are now in a 30 day break after back to back cricketing action over the last year. The Indian team lost the World Test Championships final to Australia, and thus the wait for an ICC title continues. TATA IPL 2023 saw a successful season as Chennai Super Kings won the title for the 5th time. One of the players who played an outstanding knock in the final was Sai Sudarshan of Gujarat Titans the 2022 champions.

The story so far –

21 year old left hander from Tamil Nadu, Sai Sudarshan came into limelight when he scored 46 ball 96 in the TATA IPL 2023 final. The young left hander is currently playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2023 for the Lyca Kovai Kings. in the very first game of the season, Sudarshan showed his class with the bat.

Sudarshan smashes quickfire 86 –

Kovai Kings were put into bat after IDream Tiruppur Thamizans won the toss and chose to bowl. Batting at 3, Sudarshan scored 86 off just 45 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes in his knock. Sudarshan came out to bat in the last ball of the 2nd over and batted till the end of the 20th over, before he came the 7th wicket to fall.


Kovai Kings score 179 –

Openers B. Sachin and Suresh Kumar the wicket keeper scored 2 and 11 and number 4 batter Ram Aravind fell for a 1st ball duck. This left the Kovai Kings at 14/3. That’s when Sudarshan and Mukilesh added 82 for the 4th wicket with Mukilesh scoring 33 off 32 balls with 3 fours and a six. Captain Shah Rukh Khan scored 25 not out off 15 balls with 2 fours and a six as Lyca Kovai Kings scored 179 from their 20 overs.

Kovai Kings take home an easy 70 run win –

Chasing 180 to win, Tiruppur Thamizans were all out for 109. The top scorer for the Thamizan was Tushar Raheja with 33 off 33 balls with 3 fours and a six. Sudarshan’s teammates from Gujarat, Vijay Shankar scored 2 while R. Sai Kishore scored 1. For the Kings, Shah Rukh Khan picked 3 wickets with the bat.
