The Hundred tournament began on 1st August, 2023 to a packed house. The first game of the season was between Trent Rockets versus the Southern Braves as the Trent Bridge ground in Nottingham hosted the game. 28 year old Sam Hain has been a terrific performer in the domestic circuit who has always been touted as an England hopeful. Hain was on fire with the bat when he decided to stun everyone present at the Nottingham stadium.

Tymal Mills was the bowler who let out a 145 KPH ball to Sam Hain who was already dancing in the wicket. The batter played a ridiculous no look reverse scoop for a four which left Mills shocked. What made it even better was, the batter Sam Hain wasn’t in control and fell over after playing the shot.

Batting first, the home side managed to score 133/8 from their 100 deliveries. The top scorer was Sam Hain who scored 63 off 39 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Imad Wasim scored 26 off 25 balls with 3 fours, while Dawid Malan and Colin Munro scored 11 and 10 each. Chris Jordan with 3/18 was the lead wicket taker while Craig Overton picked 2 wickets as Garton and Mills picked a wicket each.

Braves fall short by 6 runs –

Chasing 134 to win, Braves were all out for 127 thanks to 3 wickets each by Daniel Sams and Lewis Gregory while Wasim picked 2 wickets. Leus Du Plooy with 29 was the top scorer for the visitors as Finn Allen scored 28 while Chris Jordan with 22 and Devon Conway with 16 were the other contributors.
