Indian Cricket Team and its fans were sad after they lost yet another ICC final. This time the Indian team lost the World Test Championships final to Australia by whopping 209 runs. India were all out for 234 while chasing an improbable 444 run target. Australia got the final wicket of Mohammad Siraj with the lunch session being pushed back. With this with, Australia became the 1st team to get their hands on all the ICC titles.

The story so far –

India made an electric start to the chase off 444, when they were 41 for no loss from 7 overs. The first ball of the 8th over saw Boland induce an edge of Gill’s blade to be caught by Cameron Green. The whole catch then created controversy as Gill waited for the 3rd umpire verdict, only to be ruled out.

Shraddha Kapoor’s Instagram post goes viral –

While the entire Indian cricketing fans are angry and debating over the dismissal, Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has had her say. The 36 year old actress posted an Instagram post with a pair of almonds in her hands. The post read “me offering badam to the 3rd umpire”

Shubman Gill fined for his social media posts on the dismissal –

Speaking about the 23 year old opener Gill, the right hander has been slapped with a hefty fine. The fine comes after he had taken to social media and post an emoji with a facepalm to his incident on Saturday. The ICC now has levied a huge fine on him for his misconduct.

India to start next WTC cycle with West Indies tour –

The Indian cricket team now will have a 30 day break before their next international assignment. The tour of West Indies, will see India play 2 tests to start their 2023-2025 WTC cycle. This will be followed by a few ODI games and T20 games.

India will then start focusing on the white ball format with the 2023 ODI world cup in sight. The next test assignment will be against South Africa towards the end of the year before hosting England in a five match test series early in 2024.
