Indian cricket team and its players are finally getting some off time for nearly a month. While the Indian team and its players now head off to various direction after the WTC final loss, few players will be seen playing. One of the players in question is none other than Arshdeep Singh who has signed a short term deal with Kent. The left arm pacer follows in the footsteps of Navdeep Saini who played for the same last season in the English county cricket season.

Arshdeep Singh makes an immediate impact –

24 year old Arshdeep Singh was last seen bowling in the Indian Premier League 2023 season. The left arm pacer was decent during his stint for the Punjab Kings where he played a key role in a few wins. Making his debut for Kent, Arshdeep was seen troubling the batters with his pace and swing.

Up against Kent was star studded Surrey side which had a host of well known names with international experience. Arshdeep got his maiden wicket that of Ben Foakes when he had the ball come into the batter and had him out LBW for 3. Foakes had just been dropped from the English side ahead of the Ashes series.

Arshdeep helps his side skittle Surrey out for 145 –

Discarded English opening pair of Rory Burns and Dom Sibley scoring 15 and 9 each before falling to Wes Agar and Matthew Quinn. There was more trouble for Surrey as Agar got Gus Atkinson for a duck, while Tom Latham and Jamie Smith fell to Agar for 3 and 6.

With the fall of Will Jacks, the score read a sorry 60/7. Sean Abbott and Jordan Clarke added 48 runs for the 8th wicket with Clarke scoring 29, while Jordan top scored with 34. Arshdeep got his 2nd wicket when he bowled Worrall for 12 to bowl out Surrey for 145 and give Kent a lead of 156.

Kent had earlier scored 301 thanks to 133 by Jordan Cox the wicket keeper, along with fifties by Joey Evison (58) and Wes Agar with 51. For Surrey Sean Abbott picked 4/52 with the ball.
