Watch! Twitter reacts as Ravindra Jadeja needlessly gives his wicket away

Indian fans had a lot to cheer about as the Indian team took the field on the 4th day. The game at Ahmedabad saw the home team take a firm grip of the game. This was after some amazing batting by Virat Kohli. The former India skipper broke his over 1200 day drought to score a century in test cricket. Kohli scored 186 which was his 28th test century.

The story so far –

India began the 4th day of the final test at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 289/4. The overnight batters Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja had a huge task on their shoulders in a bid to take India past the 480 scored by Australia in their 1st innings.

Jadeja loses his head and throws his wicket away –

Ravindra Jadeja over the period of the last few years, has been one of the best Indian batters in test cricket. The 34 year old on Sunday, seemed to be in hurry for some reason. Jadeja in one over from Murphy tried to twice hit the bowler over the top.

Jadeja wasn’t lucky the third time though as he was caught by Usman Khawaja for 28 to give Australia their 1st wicket of the day. Even Virat Kohli wasn’t amused with the shot played by Jadeja as he showed his displeasure to give Australia an easy wicket.

Day to remember for Virat Kohli –

Batting well past fifty at the end of day 3, the eyes of the Indian fans was on Virat Kohli. The Indian captain began slow, but with each passing run, the anticipation in the crowd started to build. With a single to square leg, the arms went up as the crowd cheered with Kohli scoring his 28th test century. Kohli was the last man out after scoring 186 runs 364 balls with 15 fours.

Axar Patel scores yet another half century –

Virat Kohli found an ally in local Axar Patel who has been in amazing form with the bat in the 4 match series. Patel has already scored 2 half centuries at Nagpur and Delhi. The 29 year old scored his 3rd half century of the series in front of his home fans. Patel scored 79 off 113 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes in his knock.

India were all out for 571 with an overall lead of 91 as the final day of the series promises to be an humdinger.
