Indian team stormed back into the test match with some disciplined bowling during the pre lunch session on day two. The Indian bowling and fielding was to notch as they fought back to bring themselves back into the contest during the second day’s play in the final of the World Test Championships. The Australians started the day at 325/2 after having played 85 overs on the opening day.

The story so far –

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was called out for his captaincy which saw the Australians run away with the game on the 1st day. Travis Head showed his class with an attacking ton to knock the stuffing out of India on a hot and humid day at the Oval on Wednesday.

Rohit Sharma leaves everyone fooled –

Indian captain Rohit Sharma, always has something up his sleeve to surprise everyone. It was no different on Thursday when the Indian team took to the field with the ball in hand. The last over before the 1st drinks break at the end of the 1st hour saw drama. Mohammad Shami was bowling round the wicket to Alex Carey and twice in two balls went up for an appeal.

Rohit Sharma on the first occasion turned down the chance to go for DRS. In the 2nd instance he was seen walking away only to make a gesture as if he was going for the DRS. The umpires and the commentators were confused, but it was only Rohit explaining to Jadeja and others the ball was missing the stumps on height. This left every confused as the players walked off for drinks.

Australia 7 down at stumps –

Travis Head fell for 163 when he was caught fending a short ball by Bharat off Siraj. The introduction of Shardul Thakur saw Steve Smith chop one back on to his stumps for 121. Cameron Green was caught by Gill at slip off Shami for 6, while Starc was out for 6 courtesy some amazing fielding by Axar Patel. Australia went into lunch 7 down before Alex Carey scored a quick 48 off 69 balls with 7 fours and a six before falling to Jadeja out LBW to leave Australia at 453/8.
