Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is under the limelight once again. On Thursday, he took to the field knowing he has to win the final test. India needs to win the final test match at Ahmedabad in order to make it to the finals of the World Test Championships. Australia took the upper hand in the final’s 1st day as they scored 255/4 at stumps.
The story as it happened –
Fielding at short leg or silly point is a specialist job and the youngsters in the team are put in the position. Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill were the two players who were in the line of fire on the 1st day of the Ahmedabad test.

The cameras spotted Indian skipper Rohit Sharma have a word with Shreyas Iyer who was fielding at silly point. The 28 year old was going away from his designated fielding spot. That’s when Rohit Sharma decided to make his way to Iyer and made him stand in a spot.
Batting beauty on day 1 –
Australia won a very important toss and decided to bat first and went in unchanged. India got in Shami in place of Siraj. After 3 back to back wickets which aided spinners, the Australian batters got an amazing track to bat on. The Indian bowlers extracted pace and bounce as the pacers Umesh Yadav and Shami were seen troubling the Australian openers after they got control of proceedings.
Australia looking to capitalize on 2nd day –
Australia have Usman Khawaja batting past his 14th test ton and Cameron Green on 49. The visitors have had no trouble so far with the bat in hand as the pitch has been playing well. India on the other will want to get some early wickets with Alex Carey to be followed by the bowlers. India will want to dismiss Australia for under 375 and bat once and bat long .
