Virat Kohli was his usual self on the field, chirpy, bubbly and never short of a word. It was after all his own home ground where he is playing the 2nd test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The last time, Virat Kohli played a test match at Delhi was way back in 2018 against Sri Lanka.

In that game Kohli had scored 243 and 50 as the match ended in a draw. The former India skipper is looking for runs and a return to familiar territory could act in his favor to find form with the bat in test cricket.

Khawaja and Kohli share a laugh after Kohli’s instructions to Ashwin –

The incident in question happened post lunch session, with Ravi Ashwin bowling to Usman Khawaja. The Australian batter was making it difficult for the Indian bowlers as he was using every shot in the book.

Against the run of play, Kohli who was fielding in the slips was heard saying β€œMaarne de usko”. This was possibly in an attempt to get Khawaja to get playing the cut shot to effect a catch or even bowl him out. Khawaja though was all smiles as Kohli realized he could understand Hindi due to his Pakistani heritage as both the players shared a laugh.


Ravindra Jadeja goes past 250 wickets –

It was an historic day for Ravindra Jadeja as became the 8th Indian bowler to get 250 test wickets. The moment arrived Jadeja had Khwaja caught by Rahul for 81. Jadeja also became the 5th player to score 2000 runs and 250 test wickets, as well the 2nd quickest to achieve the feat. Ian Botham got to this mark in his 55th test match as Jadeja got to this mark in his 62nd test.

Big game for Kohli –

The eyes of the fans will be on the home boy Virat Kohli. As per reports the crowd is packed for the day 2 and day 3 of the game on Saturday and Sunday. Kohli had a match to forget last game when he scored just 12 runs. The last time Kohli scored a century was in 2019 in India’s first ever Day and Night test against Bangladesh.
