J

Karachi Kings are enduring another bad season in the Pakistan Super League. The Imad Wasim led side lost the game on Wednesday by 3 runs to lose their 4th game in the season. Karachi so far has played 5 games with a single win with 4 losses. Some of the other teams like Islamabad have played 2 games while Lahore and Peshawar have played 3 games each. This has Karachi in a spot of bother as they have their back against the wall after having completed nearly half a season.

The story so far –

Karachi had to get 22 runs off the final over with Abbas Afridi bowling to Imad Wasim. The very first ball was a no ball which went for a six to give Karachi 7 runs in the over. This meant the next ball was a free hit and Imad Wasim could only sneak a single. Afridi bowled a wide to make to make it 13 off 5 balls to be scored by Karachi.

Ben Cutting then hit Afridi for a 107 meter six as the equation now got down to 7 needed 3. Abbas Afridi was under the pump and it weas soon 6 off 3 when Afridi bowled another wide ball.

Afridi then made more than amends, as he first bowled a dot ball to make it 6 off 2. Ben Cutting went for a huge hit as Pollard settled under a skier and got Afridi and Multan a huge wicket. Irfan Khan came out and scored a single to make 5 off 1 as Imad Wasim had a mountain to climb. Karachi skipper could only take a single of the last ball as Abbas Afridi kept his cool and won the game for Multan. This got Wasim Akram frustrated as he kicked the chair in disgust.

Mohammad Rizwan ton leads Multan to 196 –

Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan got Multan off to a good start by adding 85 runs for the 1st wicket. Masood was the 1st to go for 51 when he was caught by Imran Tahir off Shoaib Malik. Masood’s knock came off 33 balls with 6 fours and a six.

Skipper Mohammad Rizwan was the star of the show for Multan has he scored an unbeaten 110 off 64 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. Rilee Rossouw scored 29 not out as Multan reached a huge score of 196.

James Vince the sole warrior for the Kings –

Imad Wasim was not out on 46 off 28 balls with 5 sixes to his name. Hero of the night Abbas Afridi was smacked for 55 runs but picked 2 key wickets of Malik and Cutting to help Multan keep their nerves and win the game.
