Watch! West Indian Kacey Carty stuns the crowd with a mind blowing catch

The ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup qualifiers is seeing some amazing action on the field. Two former World Champions in Sri Lanka and West Indies are part of the tournament. Two time World Cup winners the West Indies took on Nepal on Thursday and posted a 101 run win. This was the 2nd win for the men form Caribbean islands as they make a move closer to making it to the finals of the tournament.

The story as it happened –

Harare was the venue which played host to the game on Thursday between Nepal and West Indies. Nepal had played two games winning 1 and losing one. West Indies had made a winning start to the tournament with an easy win against USA. Rohit Paudel the Nepal skipper won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Kacey Carty does the impossible –

Akeal Hossein was bowling the 23rd over to Kushal Malla the Nepali left handed batter. The first ball saw Malla go for a wild slog as the ball nearly sailed over the ropes for a six. That’s when substitute fielder Kacey Carty sprung into action.

Carty was quick to palm the ball back into play, before making it in time to complete the catch. The athleticism on show was one to watch out for as the fans stood in awe at the magnificent catch taken by the West Indian player to dismiss Malla for 2.

Hope and Pooran bulldoze Nepalese bowlers –

West Indies were 9/2 in the 5th over as the Nepal bowlers made good use of the early morning conditions. Opener Kyle Mayers for 1 and Johnson Charles for a duck were the early wickets. Brandon King then scored 32 before he fell to leave West Indies at 55/3.

Nicolas Pooran and Shai Hope combined to add 216 for the 4th wicket with both the batter scoring tons. Pooran was out for 115 off 94 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes, while Hope scored 132 off 129 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes. Rovman Powell with 29 and Holder with 16 then gave the finishing touches as West Indies scored 339 on the board.

West Indies completes an easy 101 run win –

Chasing 340 to win, the task was huge for the men from Nepal who were all out for 238 in the final over. Aarif Shaikh top scored with 63, while Gulshan Jha scored 42. Jason Holder got 3 wickets as Joseph, Paul and Hossein picked 2 wickets each while Mayers got the final wicket of the game of KC Karan. West Indies held to an easy 101 run to get their 2nd win of the series.
