Glenn Maxwell has been batting like a dream during this season of TATA Indian Premier League 2023. The last time the fans saw the “Big Show” of cricket play this well was for Punjab Kings way back in 2014, when they made the IPL finals. The 35 year old is playing 11th season of the IPL and his career get rejuvenated in the league since his move to Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2021.

Sandeep Sharma has been one of the most standout bowlers for Rajasthan Royals this season. The 30 year old has impressed everyone with his bowling with the new and old ball.
Glenn Maxwell though doesn’t seem to care about reputations. Sandeep bowled a short ball outside off stump. Maxwell changed his grip to play an outrageous “Reverse Hook” as described by the official twitter handle of Jio Cinema.

Glenn Maxwell it seems is hell bent on making history by playing some unique shots this season of TATA IPL. In the game against Mumbai Indians, the 34 year old played a reverse scoop in the 11th over against Chris Jordan.
Maxwell’s assault deflates Rajasthan Royals –
Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis had put on 50 for the 1st wicket but the scoring rate was low. That’s when Maxwell and Faf Du Plessis went about their on ways as far as run scoring is concerned. Faf dropped the anchor as he rotated the strike. Maxwell on the other hand played every shot in the book to get to his 5th half century this season.
Season to remember so far for Maxwell –
Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 171 from their 20 overs and bowled out Rajasthan for mere 59. The 112 run win has given Bangalore a new lease of life in the race for top 4, while nearly knocking out Rajasthan Royals.
Glenn Maxwell who scored 513 runs in the 2021 season and 301 runs last year has so far scored 384 runs. The man from Victoria, has hit 5 half centuries with an average of 34.9 and an astonishing strike rate of 182. Maxwell this year has hit 27 fours and 30 sixes and still has a few more games to better his 36 sixes in a season record set in 2014.
